Kindred Bookshop partners with book clubs committed to reading and celebrating diverse authors, perspectives, and stories. Our Book Club Partnership Program makes it easier for your members to access their next reads while supporting an independent, Black feminist-owned bookseller.

WHAT PARTNERS RECEIVE

15% OFF INDIVIDUAL ORDERS
Book club members receive 15% off eligible book club purchases when they use their club’s designated Kindred Bookshop discount code at checkout.

20% OFF GROUP ORDERS
Book clubs ordering 10 or more copies of the same title receive a 20% overall discount. Group orders must be coordinated directly with Kindred Bookshop and require 2–3 weeks’ advance notice for ordering and fulfillment.

NO MINIMUM ORDER
There is no minimum number of books a club must purchase to participate. The 10-copy minimum applies only to the additional group-order discount.

NO LONG-TERM COMMITMENT
Choose your books one meeting at a time. There is no required monthly purchasing schedule or long-term commitment.

CROSS-PROMOTION
Kindred Bookshop may promote participating book clubs, upcoming meetings, and selected reads through our social media, website, newsletter, or other marketing channels. Participating clubs are also welcome to promote Kindred Bookshop as their bookseller.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Choose your next read.
Book clubs select their own books. We encourage selections that center diverse authors, perspectives, and stories.

2. Submit your selection early.
Send your upcoming selection to Kindred Bookshop as soon as possible before your meeting, including the title, author, format, and approximate number of copies needed.

3. Plan for fulfillment.
Kindred Bookshop has a standard two-week turnaround time for individual book club orders. Group/bulk orders require 2–3 weeks’ advance notice. Distributor delays, availability, or other circumstances may occasionally extend fulfillment times, so earlier is always better.

4. Purchase & read.
Members can purchase individually using the club’s designated discount code, or leaders can coordinate a qualifying group order directly with Kindred.

5. Gather & discuss.
Your club handles its own meetings, discussions, programming, and membership. Kindred Bookshop is here to help get the books into your hands.

SUPPORTING INDEPENDENT AUTHORS

We love supporting independent authors and encourage book clubs to include independently published books in their selections. However, some independently published titles are not available through Kindred Bookshop’s regular book distributors, and some may not yet be in print or available for retail distribution.

When a selected title is unavailable through our distribution channels, we encourage book club leaders and members to support the author directly whenever possible and/or use other appropriate means to access and read the book.

Kindred Bookshop does not participate in or control book selection, discussion, membership, meeting content, programming, or organizational decisions. Participating book clubs maintain full responsibility for their own programming, communications, members, and activities.

Kindred Bookshop’s role is to serve as a retailer and promotional partner for book clubs committed to promoting diverse authors and stories.
